    1928年，金乡县国民党政府建设科兼管水利事宜。
    1940年3月金乡县抗日民主政府，1946年6月金乡县民主政府，均设建设科，兼管水利建设工作。
    1949年10月，金乡县人民政府设建设科兼管水利工作。1956年4月，县人民委员会设水利科，专职水利工作。1957年2月，改称水利局；1958年8月，又改称水利建设指挥部。1968年水利建设指挥部和农林局合并，成立农林水革命委员会；1970年底取销，复设水利局至今。
