    鱼台方言有着较强的一致性，仅东南部老砦乡与县内其他各地方言差异较大，这是由于老砦居民绝大多数是外地迁民，历史上与周围土著居民互不往来所造成的。下面择要说明一些比较显著的方言差异。
    1.分尖团  老砦话分尖团，其中有些合口字今读洪音；县内其他各地不分尖团，相应的一些字今读细音，例如：
