    旧时，占卜、测字、看相之人，遍及城乡。各种占卜、测字、看相、摸骨、量手、看阴阳宅、扶乩等五花八门，内容庞杂。其手法多浅俗，如同儿戏。江湖术士以捞钱为目的，一捧二吓，故弄玄虚，诱人受骗上当。新中国建立后，此类封建迷信活动逐渐销声匿迹。80年代后，又有江湖术士活动。
