    县内有自生鱼类100余种，主要为鲤科，占总数的67.5%。按食性可分为：肉食性鱼类10种，如鳜鱼、乌鳢、红鳍鳇、翘嘴红鳇等，占25%；草食性鱼类4种，如草鱼、长春鳊、团头鲂、三角鲂等，占10%；食浮游动物、植物性鱼类12种，如花鱼、青鱼等，占19%；食浮游动物性鱼类6种，如鲢、鳙、太湖短吻银鱼等，占11%；杂食性鱼类，如鲤鱼、鲫鱼、棒花鱼等10种，占35%。主要经济鱼类有鲢、鳙、草、鲫、鲤、长春鳊、团头鲂、翘嘴红鳇、鲶、鳜、乌鳢、黄鳝等20多种。其他水生动物有鳖、虾、蟹、蚌、螺、野鸭、大雁等。水生植物有藕、菱、苇、蒲、芡等。
