    1949～1980年，县水产部门和科技单位，先后对南四湖的自然资源作过数次单项短期调查，获得大量资料。1983年，山东省水产局、济宁市科委组织有关单位的科技人员，组成南四湖资源调查协作组，开始全面调查南四湖的资源，1984年结束，获得系统、丰富的水产资源资料。
