    1988年3月，县在薛微公路北侧，104国道东1000米处建微山县麻纺厂，12月28日，建成投产，累计投资523万元。厂占地32.59亩，建筑面积4800平方米，有1/4套麻纺生产线1条。主要产品为麻袋，销往东北三省。1989年，生产麻袋48万条，实现产值105万元。1990年，全厂有干部26人(其中科技人员7人)，职工386人。是年，生产麻袋37万条，实现产值80万元。同年9月8日，由于严重亏损而停产。停产后，厂除留少部分保卫人员和管理人员外，其余职工全部放假。
