    微山县是全国第五批细线条农业区划县。
    1984年6月统计，全县总面积245.6万亩(不包括西平、赵庙)其中农业可利用面积73.96万亩，耕地41.88万亩，人均占有耕地0.89亩，每个劳力负担耕地1.98亩。11月，农业部门根据全国第五批细线条农业区划标准，将全县划为5个种植业类型区。
