    建国前，视女子足小为漂亮，讲究“三寸金莲”。女孩子从三、四岁起，就要把脚裹起来，使其前头变尖，大多女孩足趾被勒断，成为终身残疾。1931年，济宁县成立放足会，宣传放足，但收效甚微，1945年取消。
    建国后，缠足之俗根除。
