　　50年代初期，高密县始设盐业专营机构，除供应本县外，还销至诸城、五莲、莒县、平度等县。为防治五莲、诸城等山区人民因缺碘而造成大骨节病和甲状腺肥大症，盐业供应部门根据上级指示对上述地区供盐加碘。碘价昂贵，再加人工拌匀，所费不赀，但还按原价供应，受到山区人民赞扬。1953年，销售食盐1531吨，1954年销售2611吨。1960年群众生活困难，吃野菜加盐多，销售6122吨。1962年减至2019吨。1971年，销售3733吨，1976年，销售4491吨，1980年，销售3721吨，1985年，销售2544吨。
