　　昌邑县位于华北地台的东南部，著名的沂沭深大断裂带纵贯南北，对这一地区起控制作用。沂沭断裂带将本县分成两个构造单元：县城之西属沂沭断裂带（Ⅲ级），潍坊凹陷区（Ⅳ级）；县城之东是胶北隆起区（Ⅲ级）。各构造区的地质情况有明显差别。
