　　1955年7月30日，颁布《中华人民共和国兵役法》，实行了义务兵役制。兵役法规定，凡年满十八岁的中国公民，均有服兵役的义务。自此，应征青年到集征日期，便在户口所在地报名应征，经过政审、体检合格后，由县人武部批准入伍。服役期限大致为陆军3年，海军4年，空军5年。
