　　昌邑盐区有常年规律的潮汐和不定时的大海潮，频繁涨落，滞留海水，蒸发浓缩，渗入地下，日益增大卤水储量。但盐区淡水系不发育，有的涓涓水，有的已断流。当年最宽最长水势最大的潍河，自建成峡山水库起，金口拦河闸以北，几乎常年断流，水系不发育，对盐区地下卤水缓解作用极小。
