　　1958年9月，县成立技术训练学校，校址在西杨家埠村。后学校定名为“潍县农业大学”。有教职工11人，当年招收高级小学毕业生155名，分为4个班，学制为一年。结业后即行分配。1958年12月，改名为潍坊市农业大学。1959年3月，又招收5个专业班，学生186人。1960年7月。再招2个班，学生100名。同年8月，改为潍坊市农业技术学校。1962年5月停办。该校实际为1所劳动学校，学生以劳动为主，兼学一门农业技术。任课教师也只有初中、中专水平，当地群众称其为“萝卜大学”。
