　　1950年至1955年，县人民政府办公室兼管侨务。1956年至1966年，由县民政局分管侨务工作。1967年至1973年7月，由县革委群工科分管。1973年8月，成立统战外事科，管理侨务工作。1976年8月，统战外事科改称县革委外事办公室。1978年8月成立潍县革命委员会侨务办公室。1984年1月，更名寒亭区人民政府侨务办公室。
　　1979年，县人民政府根据侨户多集中居住在东庄乡、寒亭镇、朱里镇的特点，在三乡镇增设了侨务助理，具体负责三乡镇的侨务工作。
