　　清代，县署设库房，专管钱粮、牙杂税、房田契税收解。民国初年沿袭旧制。1919年，设财政管理处和田粮、税捐征收处（对外统称二科）；1929年至1948年改称财政局。
　　1942年，抗日民主政府设财政科；1945年，潍南、潍北两县分别设财政科；1948年，潍县（新）设财政科；1950年，潍南县财政科并入潍北县；1953年，潍北县财政科并于潍县；1962年，改称财政局；1968年，财政、税务机构合并，称财税局；1982年，财政、税务一个机构、一个牌子、两枚印章。1984年，改名为寒亭区财政局；1988年底，局辖人秘、预算、行政、农财、企财、预算外6个股。
