　　1980年前，境内只有少数织带、织线袜、织罗布等个体户。直到1980年针织业有较大发展，主要产品有汗衫、背心、游泳裤等，皆由县电机厂生产。1981年泊子公社投资20万元建成针织厂，当年生产腈纶衫裤23700件，围巾5236条。同年底，电机厂改名为针织厂。1983年，县针织业拥有职工201人，工业总产值115万元。1988年，区针织业有职工142人，固定资产原值86万元，工业总产值195万元，生产针织衫、裤30万件，折纱77吨。
