　　潍城区（原潍坊市）地震工作于1969年7月渤海湾地震之后开始。当时省地震办公室在昌潍地区设8个专业测点，其中有3个测点设在潍城。1969年7.28地震后，潍坊市成立了防震指挥部，同年9月，成立了潍坊市地震办公室，设主任1人，编制4人。1979年成立了潍坊市地震局，设局长1人，编制5人。1983年4月，地震局撤销，地震工作归科委代管。1989年12月，潍城区地震办公室成立。编制3人，设主任1人。
