    佛教于唐代传入，先后建有佛教寺庵50余处，较著名的有：开元寺( 坐
落于县城内西南隅)、普静寺(坐落于县城北门外)、弥陀寺(坐落于丹崖山南麓)、
千佛寺(坐落于蓬莱阁前)，另有崮山院、观音堂、白衣庵、地藏庵、圆通庵、
吉祥庵， 亦较有名。建国前，绝大部分寺庵已圮，佛教活动消失。
