    1984年9月成立蓬莱县旅游局，负责规划、协调旅游工作， 组织开发旅
游资源和建设旅游设施。1988 年成立蓬莱县人民对外友好协会， 与县旅游
局合署办公。 1991年，县旅游局内设办公室、业务科、企财科，有工作人员
22人；辖登州古市管理处、八仙居宾馆、蓬莱旅游公司、蓬莱旅行社。
