    1953年，莱阳县计划委员会成立，1955年1月，与统计科合并为计划统计科；1956年7月复为计划委员会；1958年3月改为计划统计局；1962年10月改称为经济计划委员会；1967年2月，撤销经济计划委员会；1970年3月，县革命委员会生产指挥部设立计划办公室；1976年10月，复为计划委员会；1987年4月，改称为莱阳市计划委员会，内设计划、基建两科，共有工作人员12人。
