    根据1951～1983年33年资料统计，莱阳市区年均气温为11.2℃，年均最高气温为17.6℃，最低气温6.0℃。极端最高气温为38.9℃，出现在1958年7月21日；极端最低气温－24.0℃，出现在1957年1月18日。
    市境气温变化较大。年较差为29.1℃，日较差为11.6℃，1月份气温最低，平均为－4.1℃。从3月份开始，气温迅速上升，7月份达到全年高峰，平均气温为25.0℃。9月以后又迅速下降，形成一个周期。
    由于受地理位置和地形的影响，境内年均气温南部高于北部。最高值在羊郡镇，为12.1℃，最低值在谭格庄，为10.8℃，相差1.3℃。
