    根据中国科学院编制的《中国地震区域划分图》，龙口市为7度烈度区。自1840～1983年，市境及附近海域共发生地震9次(震级1.4-4级)，外地地震波及市境的有8次，其中造成灾害的1次。
　　震灾记实：
　　1969年7月18日,渤海湾中,北纬38°12′,东经119°42′，发生7.4级地震。全市15处乡镇3131户受灾，死亡4人，伤111人，倒房9000间；王屋水库大坝塌坡2处，长218米；龙口酒厂大烟囱被震倒。灾后中央拨救济款14万元。
