    砣矶大坝座落于砣矶岛磨石嘴村南海沿与砣子岛之间。1973年3月，砣矶公社从8个生产大队抽调270余名男女社员组成建港队施工，驻军给予了人力和物力支援。总用工51万个，搬运土石46万方，投资140万元(其中国家资助88万元)，1978年9月基本建成。大坝全长400米，基宽74米，顶宽11米，东侧建有小型码头1座，可避北、西、西南、东北诸风。
