    备用工具需大葫芦头1个，鲍鱼铲1把，潜水眼镜(水镜)1副，劈柴1宗。在退潮时(半架潮)，选择好作业海区，戴镜下水，手持工具，抱葫芦头，边游边寻。待发现成认为海底礁石上可能有采捕物时，放开葫芦头，吸足一口气遂即潜入海底进行捕来，憋气已尽，立即上浮，抓住浮具，边休息边另寻捕物。若身体有寒意时，上岸燃柴取暖。直到潮水上涨半架潮时，作业即俊。
