    1956年建县后，县委、县人委均设档案室，各有兼职工作人员1人。1963年11月，建县档案馆，有工作人员2人。1967年，撤销档案馆，其业务并入县革委办公室。1980年6月，恢复长岛县档案馆。1985年，有工作人员3人，档案柜16个，档案箱210个，卡片箱3套15个，吸尘器1台，除湿机1部。
