    1981年以后，牟平取得水利科研成果24项，其中省级奖15项，市级奖7项。全区发展节水灌溉面积17086公顷，其中喷灌、管灌12100公顷，微灌433.33公顷，渠道防渗4553公顷。90年代初，县水利局引进推广FA旱地龙抗旱新技术，到2000年，全区推广13333多公顷。悬辊制管技术小网箱养优质鱼、地下水开发利用等19项科研成果也在全区推广应用。
