    1950~1978年5月，县人委或县革委办公室秘书分管侨务工作。1978年6月，牟平县侨务委员会办公室成立，设正副主任各1人。与县归国华侨联合会合署办公。1980年5月，更名为牟平县人民政府侨务办公室。1985年，侨务办公室有工作人员5人，其中正副主任各1人。
