1982年11月，海阳县人民医院始设保健科，负责对离退休干部及在职副局级干部、中级知识分子以上
人员的医疗、保健工作；定期讲解防病、治病常识；每年为离退休干部和县级领导全面查体一次，建
立干部保健档案。1985年，设病床20张，有医师、护士各1名。该年，在东村龙山街北端建卫生室l处，
有医师、护士、司药各1名，专管县城离休干部的医疗、保健工作。
