    1955年9月，成立中华全国体育总会山东省栖霞分会，后改称体育运动委员会，下设办公室处理日常工作。1958年10月并入文化科，1961年5月并入文教局。1966年因“文革”影响，体育机构渐瘫痪。1973年3月，县革委增设体育组。1975年，恢复体育运动委员会，设专职副主任。
    1985年，体委有专职副主任2人，工作人员3人。
