    1945年，县人民政府建设科设水产工作组，1946年，建设科更名实业科，水产组属实业科。1951年，撤销水产工作组，设立水产科，1953年，精简机构时撤销，水产工作由建设科兼管。1956年恢复水产科，下设渔业技术推广站和暴风警报站。1958年10月，福山县并入烟台市，县水产科并入市水产局。1962年4月复县后，设农林水产局。1969年，设水产局。1983年11月机构改革时，与农牧局合并为农牧渔业局。1984年秋，水产工作由农牧渔业局分出，设水产公司，内设政工科、渔政科、船检科、办公室。
