垦利域地形成历史短，居民为外地迁徙而来。建县以来，随着经济发展和社会进步，
人口的文化构成、职业构成以及婚姻、家庭关系均发生较大变化。1985年，全县人口
平均密度每平方公里109人，汉族人口占总数的99.9％。晚婚晚育、少生优育已
形成社会共识，人口自然增长率降低到2.67‰。
