    明、清时期，滕县由户房掌管申报灾情、豁免田赋等事宜。民国期间，民政科负责县内选举社会救济等事项。新中国建立后，县内选举、优抚、社会救济、搬迁、复员转业军人安置、婚姻登记、丧葬改革等均由县民政局负责办理。
