    台儿庄区居民多分布在土地肥沃、水利条件较好、交通方便、利于劳动生息的地区。台儿庄镇、涧头集镇中部、马兰屯乡及泥沟镇的承水沿岸人口比较稠密。境内南部山区及兰城店乡东北部、邳庄乡东北部涝洼处人口较稀少。
    境内人口密度，清末时为每平方公里104人；1953年每平方公里254人；1964年每平方公里287.5人；1972年每平方公里384人；1985年平均每平方公里424.7人。
