    回收废旧物资最早始于货郎挑。有人担挑走村串户，以小百货换取废铁、铜、锡、破布、头发、鬃毛等物，随收随卖于就近的店铺。基层供销社成立废旧物资收购站后，收购本着“收之则有，不收则无，弃之则废，用之为宝”的精神，坚持常年收购，有时也组织人员下乡收购。回收的物品分为金属、橡胶、塑料、废纸、玻璃、杂骨、废麻、旧棉、破布等。1975年，全区回收金额为6.2万元，1985年回收金额达14.7万元。
