    台儿庄印染业随手工织布而发展起来，1938年前，台儿庄镇有染坊6处，承接镇内织户的白粗布印染。染料采用当地种的蓼兰草制成的土靛青，染后的布自然朴素，不易褪色。印花图案有菊花，鲤鱼跳龙门，喜鹊登枝、五福捧寿，龙凤呈祥等十几种。
    1949年后，台儿庄印染业逐步落后，1954年春，染坊全部停业。1963年，台儿庄郭家染坊又重新开业。翌年秋，因货源不足随告停业。自此，台儿庄土法印染终结。
