    1980年4月，县城市建设局成立人民交通股。1984年9月改称公共汽车公司。先后购进大中客车6辆，开通县城至三岔、石桥、东里、燕崖、大张庄、黄庄、草埠、土门等乡镇的城乡客运线。在百货大楼、烈士陵园、长途汽车站、荆山宾馆、印刷总厂南门等处设停车点， 建候车棚。 1990年，开通沂源至淄博的61路客运线。至1990年，公共汽车公司共有职工21人，车9辆，营运线路7条，单程1650公里，年客运量80万人次，营运里程60万公里。
