    新中国成立后，群众性体育活动广泛开展。至1990年，全县举办各类体育竞赛174次，参赛运动员32817人次。全县有乒乓球队250个，队员1403人；篮球队161个，队员1881人； 田径队96个，队员967人；足球队5个，队员115人。全县有等级裁判员53人，优秀运动员20余人。
