    铁路桓台站位于索镇境内，  车站中心里程位于张东线（淄博至东营的铁路线）
自淄博站起19km607m处，隶属济南铁路局淄博车务段管辖。车站为四等站，按技术作
业性质为中间站；按业务性质为客货运站。担负客运、货运、军运、装卸和列车到发、
会让等工作。有东营至济南、东营至杭州的两列客车在车站办理旅客乘降。全站定员
为42人。2007年，实有员工41人。2008年，员工总数无变化。
    2007年， 货物发送2034车， 119254吨。货物到达8174车，490440吨。客运发送
17773人次。 运输收入1738万元。 2008年， 货物发送2918车，174809吨。货物到达
7541车，452460吨。客运发送20248人次。运输收入2467万元。           (董国强)
