    境内有史记载的爽鸠氏部落即以爽鸠（雕）为图腾崇拜，周代齐国时期又有
了对天齐渊的祭祀崇拜，秦汉时期的皇帝曾到天齐渊祭祀天主神。故临淄的自然
宗教流传较广。东汉时期，佛教和道教传入境内，并曾经盛极一时。元初，伊斯
兰教由回民带入境内。清朝中后期，基督教、天主教传入。
