    1997年10月， 区邮电局开始办理国际互联网业务。2001年5月，区广播电视
局依托市广电局的中华宽带网和本地广电宽带网优势，接入国际互联网。2002年
2月， 中华宽带网（临淄部分）由淄博广电青鸟信息网络有限公司临淄营业部经
营。年底，全区通过中国通信宽带网和中华宽带网进入国际互联网的用户达1.67
万户。
