    明代，随着回民的迁入而传入临淄境内，其主要节日有：盖得尔夜、开斋节、
古尔邦节、圣纪和每星期五的主麻日。
    明在金岭镇建立清真寺，清咸丰年间重修，建国后，伊斯兰教得到政府的保
护和各方关注。1953年金南回族小学曾设阿文课。“文化大革命”期间，清真寺
遭受破坏。1981年与1984年政府两次拨款，进行了维修。现清真寺共有阿訇10名，
沙心诚、沙怀平为住寺阿訇，其他人为散班阿訇。1982年人口普查时，区内共有
穆斯林6926人。
