    清末民初，临淄境内有戏楼五座，分别座落在县城城隍庙前、县城西门桥南
侧广场、西关阁子外广场、龙池村和东古城村。此外，南关“吕祖庙”院内，还
有一座砖石铺砌的露天戏台。现均折除无遗。
    1952年，新声剧团与县工商联集资，在辛店宽宏街建一简易剧场。可容观众
千余人。1968年，因失修倒塌。1963年起，较具现代规模、水泥钢筋结构的剧场，
相继兴建，到1985年底，全区已拥有区、乡(镇) 、村、厂属演出场所18个(详见
第三章放映演出设施)。
