    中华人民共和国建立前，临淄无专门劳动管理机构。建国后，县人民政府实
业科管理劳动工作。 1953年，撤销实业科，劳动工作归统计科。1956年6月建立
县劳动科。1958年5月，劳动科并入计划委员会。1970年1月，劳动工作归区革命
委员会计统组负责。 1971年，计统组改为统计局，劳动工作仍继属之。1973年3
月，建立区劳动局，编制8人。1985年编制11人。
    1979年12月，建立临淄区劳动服务公司，为劳动局领导下的事业单位。1985
年，编制15人。
