    临淄的防空工程始于1969年。当时只是构筑了一些简易的防御工事。自1971
年，辛店被确定为全国重点防卫城镇之一后，才开始了有规划的、大规模的防空
工程建设。同年10月，临淄区成立防空干道工程指挥部，一些较大的工矿企业、
机关、学校，都组织了专业施工队伍，分段担负施工任务。到1985年底，建筑面
积102065平方米。设有地下会议室、医院、饭店等。
