    抗日战争和解放战争时期及中华人民共和国建立初期，临淄民兵装备的主要
武器是各种杂牌步马枪、土枪、大刀、长矛和手榴弹等。1953年，全县民兵有步
马枪846支， 土枪1082支。随着国民经济和国防现代化的发展，民兵武器装备也
不断得到充实和更新，全区民兵装备有自动、半自动步枪、轻、重机枪、火箭筒、
高射机枪、各种轻型地面火炮及电台等多种武器装备。
