    1950年5月，淄川县贯彻执行《中华人民共和国婚姻法》，城张村沿袭了几千年旧封建婚姻制度废止。实行婚姻自主，恋爱自由，喜事新办。20世纪60年代始，娶亲开始改革旧俗，花轿抬新娘改为乘坐黄包车。20世纪80年代后，改用汽车。新娘罩红纱（蒙头红），入洞房踏红帖习俗不再存在。拜天地改为结婚典礼，跪拜改为行鞠躬礼。喜宴只招待外来亲朋，乡邻贺喜不请客。
