    建国前，淄川没有卫生行政机构。建国初，县人民政府设卫生科c
    1950年8月，县卫生院行使全县卫生行政管理职能。
    1953年3月，县人民政府设卫生科。
    1956年2月，淄川区设卫生科。
    1968年4月，卫生行政工作归区革命委员会生产指挥部内务组。
    1970年8月， 区革命委员会设卫生局。1972年局设政工组、医政组。1979年
12月，政工组、医政组改称为政工股、医政股、增设秘书股。
    1981年3月，区革命委员会卫生局改称为淄川区卫生局，1982年增设计财股。
    1985年，区卫生局设政工、医政、秘书、计财股，主管全区卫生行政工作。
