    民国前期，淄川最大的当铺是“隆吉当铺，铺址在县城东街路北。1914年开
业，雇佣店员百余人，在罗村、王村、昆仑、洪山、龙口等地均设有代当店，当
铺月息3分。除利息外，加保管费5厘。1937年12月，日本侵略军侵占淄川前夕，
群众自发地冲进“隆吉当铺”，夺回了自己所当的财物。从此，淄川的当铺大都
自行解体。
