    在建国初，胶县侨务无正式机构。自1952年始，县委统战部兼管侨务工作。1979年下半年，成立胶县侨务领导小组，专管侨务。1984年5月以前，县委统战部设1人专管侨务，对外称侨务办公室；各乡镇配备了统战侨务干事1人。是年5月，政府设侨务外事科，11月改称胶县侨务办公室，独立列编。1985年8月，列政府序列。
