    1949年10月，胶县人民政府设立司法科，管理司法行政工作，1955年10月撤销。1956年9月3日，胶县法律顾问处成立，有律师3人，开展刑事辩护、民事代理、代写文书、解答法律咨询等项业务。1958年，法律顾问处撤销。1980年12月，成立了胶县司法局，全面开展司法行政工作。
